iWeb, social conferencing, etc

I loved the JibJab this morning. I think the social conferencing options on the computer are great! Much better than the annoying forward emails that we all get! I also feel that I am getting more comfortable with iWeb options and the first class websites. I have not created my own website, but it is definitely less intimidating to me. I love Sara B's First Class website, and I think I may try to make my own at some point this school year. Betsy

iPhoto and iTunes

I feel like I learned a lot today! I now know how to input photos into iPhoto, make slideshows, and add pictures from Stationary Studio and Appleworks. It is really easy to edit in iPhoto. I also learned to input music to iTunes, and than put iTunes music into slideshows. Yeah! I am still trying to figure out GarageBand.

Podcasts

I read the Education World article, "Sites to See: Podcasting." It is a good resource on Podcasts, what they are, how to make them, and examples of educational Podcasts. I now know what a podcast is, and I can see how to use them in the classroom. I think young students would welcome a video lesson to reinforce in class lessons. I still am not confident in my ability to make a podcast, but I hope that will come with practice!

TeachersFirst: Wiki Walk-Through

I really like the format of this article. It was very user friendly - the topics on the left, and the description of each on the right. I really love the many, many examples of how a wiki can be used for all curriculum areas at all grade levels. I got some great ideas of how to use a wiki with young learners.
